Gay and LGBTQ+ Therapy in Los Feliz & Los Angeles

Therapy is about making room for who you are.

For many LGBTQ+ people, the world has plenty of ideas and expectations of who we should be. Sometimes, we can get lost trying to find our way, and even feel out of place within the very communities that are supposed to be safe havens.

I offer individual therapy in person in Los Feliz and virtually throughout California for LGBTQ+ teens and adults who are navigating these issues, trauma, major life transitions, relationship difficulties, and other experiences that can leave life feeling overwhelmingly uncertain.

Often, the parts of ourselves we struggle with the most are formed for a reason. They may have helped us survive, avoid pain, seek approval, or protect ourselves during moments when we had limited options.

That is okay.

I believe healing happens through relationship. Many of our deepest wounds happen in relationship. Therapy offers a different kind of relationship; one where we can slow down, notice what happens in the room, and begin creating new ways of understanding ourselves, relating to others, and feeling more at home in who we are.

What we can work on in therapy:

  • navigating coming out, family dynamics, and major life changes

  • understanding different parts of yourself

  • finding belonging within—and outside of—the LGBTQ+ community

  • breaking recurring relationship patterns

  • processing trauma and shame

  • navigating major changes, loss, or uncertainty

  • making sense of experiences that have changed how you see yourself or the world

  • building self-compassion

  • reconnecting with the person you want to become
