I’m Derek.
I approach therapy as a fellow traveler.
I work with people who feel stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break, even when things on the surface look fine.
I often work with men who are used to pushing through on their own, until that approach stops working. I also support individuals and couples navigating relationship challenges, whether that’s conflict, rebuilding trust, or understanding where these patterns come from.
My style is warm, thoughtful, and direct. We’ll work together to slow things down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and create space for something different. I draw from psychodynamic, existential, CBT, and ACT approaches, and when it fits, a little humor can be part of the process.
I know that starting therapy can feel like a big step. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start making changes in your life.
