Retrofitting Your Life
Life can shift beneath us without warning. I help people process and rebuild after trauma, illness, or major life upheavals.
I often use the metaphor of an earthquake to describe my approach to therapy. Just as earthquakes arrive without warning, traumatic life events do too. Structures are often retrofitted to better withstand future instability and unforeseen events.
I approach therapy by offering a safe space for clients to engage with and process their trauma while rebuilding from within. The goal is not to erase what has happened, but to strengthen the internal structures that allow us to remain standing and become more resilient moving forward.
Life upheavals can take many forms, including:
A cancer diagnosis or major illness
The loss of a relationship or marriage
Childhood trauma that continues to shape the present
Surviving abuse or neglect
Sudden life transitions or identity shifts
Burnout, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion
Feeling disconnected from yourself after years of pushing through
Grief, loss, or confronting mortality
